Strathmore’s Drawing Visual Journal features Strathmore 400 Series Heavyweight Drawing paper. The paper has a medium surface with slightly more texture than Strathmore’s 400 Series Drawing paper. This allows for greater depth of tone, uniform areas of half tones and less mechanical looking cross hatching. Surface is durable enough to stand up to repeated erasing and reworking. It is acid free and 100lb or 163 gsm thick.

The paper is excellent for use with dry media like pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, graphite, pastel or sketching sticks. It is also good for pastel, marker, pen and ink, light mixed media and collage techniques.

Their books feature heavyduty covers (with a removable top cover sheet that attracts attention & provides detailed information on paper performance characteristics and recommended media) with wire binding that is thicker and stronger than traditional wire. The binding itself allows the journal to lie flat and open up 360 degrees a feature important to artists.
