Pebeo Artist Acrylics Varnish can be used to protect the uniformity and give depth to Acrylic colours. It improves the ability of acrylic colours to resist aging, increase colour depth, and harmonize differences in colour brilliance. In general, prior to starting the artwork, it is advisable to always pre-test on the selected media. It is particularly recommended for protecting works exposed outdoors as it filters UV light. It holds well on the brush and adds a strong brilliance and durability to even poorer works. The varnish will protect the work and give a uniform finish. It dries rapidly and must be applied to completely dried works (6 months-1 year). The thermoplastic film allows the possibility to restore.
How to Use - Shake the varnish well before use. Apply the varnish onto the desired painting in a single application and in one single direction. It dries rapidly in about 2 to 3 hours depending on the thickness and the temperature. Keep it away from dust. It can be thinned or cleaned using mineral spirits or turpentine.
In situations where the colour has been applied very thickly, wait one to two weeks before adding varnish. In general, prior to starting the artwork, it is advisable to always pre-test on the selected media.
Gloss Varnish - Non-yellowing, very transparent, extremely glossy, supple, and responsive finishing varnish that makes acrylic colours brilliant and resonant. Available in 200 ml and 400 ml aerosol sprays and in 75 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1L bottles.
Matt Varnish - Non-yellowing, very transparent, extremely matt, supple, and responsive finishing varnish that makes acrylic colours opalescent and resonant. Available in 200 ml and 400 ml aerosol sprays and in 75 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1L bottles.
Satin Finish Picture Varnish - Transparent, easy to apply, acid-free, non-yellowing, fast drying varnish composed of acrylic resin and polyethylene wax. It renders a discreet uniform satin finish, between gloss and matt, which allows protecting artworks. Available in 200 ml and 400 ml aerosol sprays.
