Pebeo Artist Acrylics One Coat Gesso is an opaque, lightly matt, white coloured primer. A gesso or a primer is essential for proper preparation of the surface to be painted. Indeed, its application gives a toothy or textured surface which ensures proper adhesion of paint layers on the surface. It can be applied onto all painting surfaces. It is particularly important when using oil paints on an acrylic base.

Pebeo Artist Acrylics Gloss Bindex is a non-yellowing, glossy, translucent and indelible acrylic binder which offers a supple satin film after drying. Bindex is used to prepare acrylic colours. When mixed with the colours it provides an even colour consistency, allows better adhesion, transparency, depth, drying time without thinning the paint. It is ideal for creating collages, material effects and inlays. It's also commonly used in bookmaking and bookbinding. Bindex can also be used for Pbo Mixed MEDIA techniques to create a protective layer before pouring on the Glazing Resin or the Crystal Resin. Bindex is frequently used in conjunction with Pebeo Mortars to improve adhesion.

Mortarsare used to create structure and thick textures. Mortars are very thick, opaque and render a matt finish after application, it is recommended to use a painting knife to apply them. It is possible to mix Mortars with acrylic colours, but this will result in a colour variation (unlike when used with the Gels and Bindex). Mortars can be diluted with water or thinned with gels and mediums. Pebeo Artist Acrylics Raw Sand Mortar is a semi-matt finish mortar with a thick and granular consistency. It is made from acrylic polymer and silica and gives granular and grainy effects. It can be used alone or mixed with colours to give a beautiful effect to broken tones.

Pebeos Artist Acrylics Heavy Modeling Paste is an opaque, matt finish, heavy textured, ready to use paste for creating reliefs and impasto, especially for creating dimensions. Formulated with a very fine grain to offer a high density, it offers a thicker textured paste than the Studio Acrylics Modeling Paste. The Light Modeling Paste is a light opaque, textured, ready to use paste for creating reliefs and impasto, especially for creating dimensions. It is much lighter and airier than other modelling pastes.

Both the Modeling Pastes can be applied using a painting knife. They can be applied pure or mixed with colours. But it is not recommended to be mixed with a thinner. Keep them away from dust and allow them to dry for 1-3 hours depending on the thickness of application. They retain the imprint of the tool and can be sculpted, painted and sanded down once dry. After drying, they perfectly retain volume and does not crack. Clean the tools with water before the paste dries onto it.
