Koh-i-noor Toison D’or Extra Soft Pastels are extremely high-quality soft pastels. These cylindrical pastels are manufactured using the highest quality Micro-pulverized Pigmented Pastel with minimal binders to create intense colour with high permanence ratings. The pigments are sourced from leading manufacturers around the world. Designed for both artists and amateur artist in variety of bright colours and shades.

Toison D’Or Extra Soft pastel stick are smooth, velvety laydown makes them well suited to blending and layering making it ideal for pastel paintings. They are slightly less fragile than other artist quality pastels and hold up well to full coverage applications. Each stick is paper wrapped with 12 mm diameter and 75 mm long stick, available in 48 shades in individual pieces and in sets of 12, 24 and 48 cushioned in foam insert.

No component used in production contains toxic or otherwise harmful substances and the final product is therefore suitable for all age categories.

Please note after finalization of the artwork, the use of a preparation fixative is highly recommended to prevent subsequent blurring.

Minimum Binder Content -

Koh-i-noor Toison D’or Extra Soft Pastel are made of very pure micro-pulverized natural substances on a base of calcium carbonate. Together with other additives and binding agents it creates a basic mixture, into which colour pigments are carefully mixed. The use of minimum content of binding element ensure an amazingly simple and silky strokes on paper or another medium.

Unique Colour Mixtures –

The primary characteristic of these round pastels is that they are easily wiped off the surface, which helps to spread the colourful dust all over the surface. This painting technique offers immense possibilities of changing the capacity and tone. With smudging and erasing we can readily achieve shades in the painting. The low adhesion to the medium allows toning and the creation of simple crossing.

Lightfastness –

Koh-i-noor Toison D’or Soft Pastel are extremely lightfast. The lightfastness of the pastels and dosed concentration influence the result as well as the durability of the artworks.
