Kohi-I-Noor Hardtmuth Chongqing Hog Bristle Brushes are made from interlocked hog bristle, traditionally used in oil painting. The bristles are extracted from the white Chinese bristle from Chungking and is of the highest quality. The bristles are considered to be one of the best hog bristle worldwide suitable for oil and acrylic painting. Its natural hardness responds perfectly to more or less dense oil painting technique and acrylics. The long polished wooden handle offers superb control. The ferrule is made of seamless silver brass.
Chongqing Hog Bristle Brushes are part of the Artists’ Brushes range of Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth. Koh-I-Noor has been making artist quality brushes since 1899. It features 3 new collection of artist’s brushes - Golden Collection, Silver Collection and Copper Collection. The brushes in the Golden Collection are made of the finest Kolinsky hair with seamless golden brass ferrule. In the Silver Collection, the brushes are made of Chongqing hog bristle and have seamless silver brass ferrule. The Copper Collection has brushes made of pure natural squirrel hair and the ferrule is made of seamless copper brass. Please note that by natural hair, it means that it is a by-product of other industries such as fur or food industry. No animals were destroyed for the purpose of brush making.
There are 8 different types of shapes available in artists’ brushes for various uses. The round shaped brushes are used for detailed work, washes, creating thin and thick lines as well as for filling paints.
