Gamblin Etching Inks are highly pigmented printmaking inks designed for printmakers who need a strong line and a great sensitivity to detail. Each black is designed to meet the specific need in both depth of colour and printability. These are formulated using intaglio printing processes at the request of professional printmakers in the pacific northwest who wanted strong reliable inks for edition printing. The palette of pure intense pigments offers a broad range of colour mixing potential.
Five black inks and graphite were formulated to meet the demands of printmakers who want deep rick black inks with good working characteristics.
Portland cool black are ideal for edition printing as it offer deep rich blacks, great sensitivity to line & detail, total control of plate tone and the most potential for subtle value shifts.
For engravers, printer of mezzotints or others who need more resistance from their ink, Portland stiff black is also available.
