Conte a’ Paris Pastel Pencils have a lead diameter of 5 mm, which is about 20% more than most other brands. The thicker lead diameter gives genuine freedom of creation and has an unrivalled feel. The leads are smooth & have fine & rich pigments.
It is a must have for Pastel artists as it is the perfect companion to soft & extra soft pastels. As its lead is slightly harder, with lesser pigment, pastel pencils allow for a larger variety in mark making & help in adding a new dimension to any pastel artwork.
Pastel Pencils are preferable to Soft Pastels & Carre Crayons when detailed & precise marks are required for small & medium sized formats. In contrast to Soft Pastels, Pastel Pencils are best used as pure colours laid out in patchwork fashion, side by side - rather than layered - so the shades are not diminished.
Pencils are pre-sharpened. Available in a range of 48 vibrant colours, loose and in sets.
