Koh-I-Noor 8971 Professional Woodless Extra Thick Graphite Stick

Koh-I-Noor 8971 Woodless Extra Thick Professional Graphite Pencils are premium artist quality pencils ideal for sketching, drawing, writing, arts, graphics, hatching, etc. Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth was founded by Joseph Hardtmuth in 1790. Koh-I-Noor produced the first pencil leads by using a mixture of graphite and clay.

Koh-I-Noor’s high quality Woodless Extra Thick professional graphite pencils glide smoothly over the paper. These pencils have high opacity and are lightfast along with clean erasing qualities. Koh-I-Noor uses high-grade fireproof ceramic clay and graphite in a lacquered envelope. These pencils are all graphite and this minimizes wastage. The Koh-i-noor Jumbo Woodless Extra Thick pencils are particularly suitable for artistic drawing, especially on large areas where strong trace is required.

The Koh-i-noor Jumbo Woodless Graphite Pencils can be used in many ways. You can sharpen like a normal wood cased pencil for detail work, or use the edges or blunt points for shading or broad, expressive work. Koh-I-Noor’s artist pencils have been on the market since decades during which period they have won many awards around the world for their impressive quality.

These pleasingly chunky sticks of graphite are available in 4 grades - HB, 2B, 4B and 6B. The softness and darkness of the pencil is determined by the proportion of graphite to clay. 4B and 6B are best suited for sketching, illustrating and blending as they produce broader and darker strokes, whereas HB and 2B are ideal for writing and drawing at school.

Koh-I-Noor Woodless Extra Thick pencils have a 10.5 mm tick lead. The pencil itself is hexagonal in shape and is also 10.5 mm thick. The pencils are pre-sharpened. Made by Koh-I-Noor in the Czech Republic (Europe), these pencils are similar to Staedtler Lumograph, Sanford Turquoise and Berol Turquoise Pencils.
