Escoda Perla brushes are made of White Toray Synthetic hairs, which are softer than nylon and taklon, the two most common fibres used for making synthetic brushes. White Toray synthetic fibre brushes are one of the softest and the finest quality synthetic fibres available for watercolours. The round brush combines three diameters and three different lengths, achieving a perfect tip. It has a capacity to retain a large amount of paint but still possess the characteristic of a synthetic brush, feel stiffer than brushes made of animal hairs and spring back to the original shape after every stroke.
The process of designing and creating Escoda Perla brushes in their factory begins and ends with brush artisans. Each brush is meticulously crafted by hand resulting in a brush that will be of service for years to come. A triple crimp (exclusive trademark design for Escoda) is applied to the brush ensuring a fixed ferrule that will remain in place for a lifetime of use. The Perla brushes go through a curing process, original to the Escoda company, which consolidates and locks each hair in place creating a permanent brush shape, also known as ‘The Escoda Memory Process’. It also increases the natural spring of the brush and its ability to retain the original form/shape.
Escoda Perla Brushes have a substantial belly and a precise point, allowing you to pick up a large quantity of paint at a time as well as painting fine lines and detailing with it. These brushes have amazing flexibility and spring, giving an artist great control. It keeps an excellent point and edge for a soft, yet controlled application.
The Round Pointed Brush has a round ferrule, Pointed tip. The short, green lacquered wood handle is triple crimped to the nickel-plated brass ferrule. The nylon filaments vary in diameter to allow for a more natural appearance. Use on point or apply pressure to make thick-to-thin strokes. Detail work or filling large areas depending upon the size of the brush and pressure applied. Round Pointed brush is ideal for detailed work.
